Helping owners of income-producing property, non-profit organizations and commercial tenants to manage their energy expenses...
Assisting with strategic energy procurement:In late 2013, GLBA principal Lamont Blackstone began testing a new service to help for-profit and non-profit property owners -- as well as commercial tenants -- to manage their electricity and natural gas expenses. This service was focused exclusively on those states and jurisdictions that have deregulated the purchase of electricity and natural gas. Lamont found that techniques such as energy account aggregation & competitive bidding proved useful in controlling expenses & achieving economies of scale.
As a result of his initial success in assisting operators of supportive housing, he is now expanding his platform to serve other clients operating affordable housing and income-producing property. In addition, drawing upon his relationships in the commercial real estate and mixed-use multifamily sectors, he will assist retailers, restaurants, healthcare tenants and other commercial energy users. Neither GLBA or Lamont Blackstone are energy suppliers. However, they have business development relationships with energy distribution firms operating in energy-deregulated markets such as NY, NJ, CT, PA, DC, DE, OH and MD. |
